Tools Needed To Change Alternator. Move the a/c condenser out of the way by removing the three 10mm bolts (figure 4). Ultimately the clues pointed toward a failing alternator, so i decided to replace it.
Pull the alternator again and get it reload tested. It should be at least 14 volts. There’s another 10 mm nut that’s holding the wire bracket onto the alternator.
A Good Battery Will Read Above 12.4 Volts With No Load On It.
A standard 5/8″ or 13/16″ socket wrench works for most old spark plugs. Remove tension from the serpentine belt with either your serpentine belt tool or 1/2” breaker bar. Turn the tensioner clockwise to loosen the belt.

If You Don't Have A Voltmeter, Remove The Alternator And Take It To The Parts Store For.
There are two main cables attached to the alternator—the main power cable and the cable that connects to the harness. Should do it i believe. 5/8 socket for belt tension and where it connects to alt.
